Paris Haute Couture S/S 2018: Armani Privé

“The changing nature of the sky is reflected in a collection where every single detail recalls its airness”, stated Giorgio Armani about the Spring/Summer 2018 haute couture collection for Armani Privé. Theatrical in its core, the collection was appropriately presented at the Théâtre National de Chaillot. As always, it was elegant and intriguing. The unusual shapes, floral patterns and concise color combinations stand for the airness that Mr. Armani envisioned. Everything from evening shorts and power jackets, to sparkling ensambles absolutely screamed haute!

Clouds of light fabric were elevated by watercolour effects, all in the shades of sky at dusk and dawn. Naturally shaped rocks added a concrete edge to an oneiric collection. Detailing was impeccable, somewhat hidden at a first glance like in the case of a sparkling silver bow pocket. Delicate and graceful as usual, Mr. Armani designed an array of superb couture pieces. A pastel rainbow of asymmetrical blouses, skirts and dresses was contrasted with more structured pieces in the form of conventional, yet colorful suits. The ladies on the runway were accompanied by gentlemen in black-tie plush suits from Armani’s latest men collection. This collection was a delicately created masterpiece where no detail was overlooked. The finest fabrics were shaped by careful hands, making art come to life. Fabrics gathered like a waterfall, clear like a blue night’s sky. The watercolour effect heightened silks and organzas, both soft like a cloud. Instead of stars, constellation of sequins was created in order to guarantee a magical evening in Paris. Undeniably heavenly!
