For the past couple of years, fashion world has started to embrace East Asian models more than ever. Countries like China overtook an important role in the global marketplace and became significant changers in the world of fashion. Models from Japan, China and South Korea started to appear on the covers of leading fashion magazines and, make no mistake, they are here to conquer… and to stay. In a global context, these (super)models are helping to change the face of fashion with their top campaigns and magazine covers. One of the most successful East Asian models (and a name you should definitely remember) is Fei Fei Sun. She has managed to land major advertising campaigns throughout her career by posing for brands like Dior, Louis Vuitton and CK One. Fei Fei has also covered top magazines and became the first model of East Asian descent to appear on a solo cover of Vogue Italia. Most recently, she posed for Patrick Demarchelier for the March 2017 cover of Vogue China. Mesmerized by the photos and the end result, I needed to share the editorial since it is one of the best ones to come out of Demarchelier’s atelier. Like the most delicate Chinese rose, I am looking forward to see Fei Fei blossom in the years to come.
