As the final preparations were taking place at the backstage of Georges Hobeika Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2017/2018 collection, the focus of the designer and his creative team was on the details such as the exquisite jewelled accessories and skillfully crafted colorful jewellery. Last year, the designer channeled the spirit of Divine Asia. For today’s show in Paris, he showed us what happens when architecture takes fashionable form. Known for his signature expression of femininity, romance and elegance, the haute couture designer manages to successfully captivate the fashion world with his creative style and consistent crafting of statement pieces admired as works of fashion art.
When models first emerged from the dim-lighted backstage and started walking down the enchanted old staircase at the Université Paris Descartes, it was clear that this collection will be sublime. The oriental themed soundtrack captivated the guests while the lustrous and elegant gowns floated down the runway. It is Georges Hobeika at its best! He took elegance to a different level and proved why he’s the epitome of haute couture. The exquisite craftsmanship was once again seen as the quintessential signature of the fashion house. Hand-sewn embroideries, hand-tailoring of the finest and most unique fabrics and pristine finishings attest to the superior execution of the designer’s vision. Special attention was put to beaded details on the luxurious gowns, while the elegant hooded capes resembled the ones from High Society, worn by Grace Kelly. The exquisite beading was noticeable throughout the entire looks- stunning pieces, shoes, bags and jewellery. Poudre pink, royal blue and purple, persian indigo, iceberg and crimson red to name a few. The choice of colors was predictable for the house of Hobeika, yet freshened with new embellishment detailing. Fashion in its true art form.
