Aside from being stunningly beautiful, Amal Al Mulla is one of the most prominent young Bahrain fashion designers. I recently fell in love with her designs when I accidentally stumbled upon her work online. She is a fashion design graduate from The Royal University for Women that got interested in the world of fashion in her early childhood days. Dreaming about her own label, she took step by step towards the international career she now holds.
Her eponymous brand is a ready-to-wear label that focuses on bridging the gap between luxury clothing and contemporary fashion. The timeless yet innovative designs convey her aesthetic of consistency in contrast, leading the collections to definitive silhouettes that evolve within opposites that attract. She is finding structure in the fluidity, textures in transparencies and details that never seize to surprise.
Amal states that she draws inspiration from two elements- escapism and nature. Her collections are designed to portray a journey that she escapes into. Each collection is created out of a storyboard, a visionary idea that is experimented and interpreted through the selected fabrics, along with textures and details that exude flawless and refined creations that suit the modern women of today, designed with a great eye for detail and constructed with fine craftsmanship.
Her latest Fall-Winter 2016/2017 collection is filled with feminine silhouettes, body-flattering cuts and shapes, nude color palette and a touch of individuality. She brings out the best of female body and creates unique pieces that fit every woman. Even though I am (only!) 4691 km away from Bahrain, I became her biggest European fan and a supporter. Amal, I am looking forward to seeing more, and more… and more.
